The Equipment
Classical Pilates Apparatus
Your lesson
I teach from home in a modest space, no frills, clean and bright, but is serves the purpose.
Lessons are carefully tailored to individual client's ability, offering the right level of challenge to ensure steady progress and a sense of achievement. The ultimate aim being to perform the exercises masterfully with awareness of posture and connection.
Any of the apparatus may be utilised, but normally the Reformer or Half Cadillac and Mat work will form the core of a lesson. More advanced clients can progress on to a full routine on either the Mat, Reformer or the Wunda Chair.

The Reformer
I use a Gratz Reformer Half Cadillac which allows me to select a range of exercises to best suit the client. There are over 60 different exercises on the Reformer, the aim being to master them where possible.
The Half Cadillac offers a different range of exercises and is excellent for rehabilitation work and targeting specific weakness.

Teaser performed on the Reformer.
The iconic exercise that you will also find on the Mat, Half Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Spine Corrector and Ladder Barrel. Where do you think it will be hardest?

The Wunda Chair
Originally designed as an "at home" piece of equipment the Wunda Chair offers a challenging workout when used in isolation but it is often used as part of lesson to target specific needs.

The Ladder Barrel
Where we strengthen and lengthen the body. Advanced exercise on this apparatus can be very challenging.

The Spine Corrector
An example of Joseph Pilates imaginative and innovative mind. The Spine Corrector offers a means to aid proper posture and again, a compact but challenging workout. I love to use it when I need a workout in a limited time period.

The Pedi-Pole
A very simple apparatus but so effective in raising awareness of posture and connections in the body. The last exercise in the short series is surprisingly difficult!
